The American Academy of Advertising Conference in San Mateo this spring had a large Grady contingent. Faculty present included:

Senior PRSSA Banquet a Success
The Senior PRSSA Banquet was held on Wednesday, April 16th at the Georgia Center. The attendees, including Grady students, faculty and staff, were energized by a keynote address by Dr. Lynne Sallot. As a special treat, the Bateman team presented their well-executed campaign.

Rotaract has selected Public Realtions major Abby Blaylock this year’s Grady recipient of the Student Service Award. Great job Abby!
Congrats to Bateman Team
The UGA BAteman Team racked up an Honorable Mention in the 2008 Competition. As part of their innovative campaign for Safe Kids Athens, they put cameras in the hands of Athens middle schoolers to produce videos for YouTube.
The team members included: Ashley Beebe, Jarek Beem, Abby Blaylock, Audrey Califf, Sydney Carroll. They did a very strong campaign for their client.

Ad Club Atlanta Agency Tour
The AdCub took their Atlanta Agency Tour tour last week. There were 32 students in attendance. Agencies visited included: Ames Scullin O'Haire and Bennett Kuhn Varner. This was topped off with a visit to The Portfolio Center.

Dr. Lynne Sallot was named a Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professor for 2008! This is the highest teaching honor given at the Univeristy of Georgia.

Congrats to Dr. Sweetser!
Kaye Sweetser was selected by the UGA Tate Society as the first-ever recipient of their Most Outstanding Young Professor Award! Each year they select someone as the Most Outstanding Senior Professor (this year it will be Loch Johnson), but this year Kaye will be the first young professor recognized with this new award.
