Two of our undergraduate students had a paper accepted with Dr. Sweetser for the NCA conference in November. This manuscript was an off-shoot of the research project they worked on during the Spring 2007 semester of ADPR 3130:

Abby Blaylock, & Kaye D Sweetser.

Top Papers-AEJMC Conference
Some of the papers submitted from our department to the AEJMC Conference this summer in Chicago were award winners!
Karen Miller Russell and Carl O. Bishop received a top faculty paper award for their paper in the PR division: "Understanding Ivy Lee’s Declaration of Principles: U.S. Newspaper and Magazine Coverage of Publicity and Press Agentry, 1865-1904"
and
Carolina Acosta-Alzuru recieved second place in the faculty paper competition in the Cultural and Critical Studies division: "Did you see that?: The production and reception of socio-cultural issues in telenovelas."

Dr. Carolina Acosta-Alzuru was this year's recipient of the Roland Page Graduate Teaching Award. It is awarded annually by the graduate students in the Grady College. Congratulations to her on this well-deserved honor.
