Ad students take Chicago

Twenty-one undergraduate and graduate UGA advertising students traveled to Chicago October 25-29, with Jennifer Griffith, Senior Lecturer in Advertising. This year, the students and Dr. Griffith visited advertising agencies and public relations firms, including mcgarrybowen, Golin, FCB, Leo Burnett, Cramer-Krasselt, Energy BBDO, Edelman, and 88 Brand Partners and made new contacts and spent time with Grady alumni who now live and work in Chicago.  

One of the highlights of AdClub's 2014 Chicago Advertising Agency Tour was an alumni networking event at The Museum of Broadcast Communications where students had an additional opportunity to meet UGA and Grady alumni while touring the museum and checking out memorabilia from iconic television shows such as I Love Lucy and The Oprah Winfrey Show.  

It was a busy four days, and the students learned a lot about the advertising and public relations industries. A number of them returned to Athens with dreams of beginning their careers in the Windy City. This year's trip was the fifth that advertising students have taken to Chicago.
