Dr. Jooyoung Kim, associate professor of advertising in Grady College's Department of Advertising and Public Relations, has been awarded a Grady Faculty Fellowship, which will allow him to dedicate time toward research for the 2015-2016 academic year.
During his fellowship, Kim will investigate why and how consumers engage with advertising. Multiple studies will be conducted using both laboratory and field settings to test Kim's hypotheses. He will analyze advertising engagement for multi-media and multi-cultural situations in both the United States and South Korea, and his findings will be outlined in conference presentations and journal publications.
Kim has been a professor in the AdPR department for 11 years. His work has been published in The Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, International Journal of Advertising, Psychology & Marketing, and Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly. Additionally, Kim has won many research awards, including Best Conference Paper at the American Academy of Advertising Conference.
