AdPR at UGA wins national Marketing EDGE Collegiate ECHO Challenge

The Team Green Giraffe won the second place silver
AdPR students dominated in this year's Marketing EDGE Collegiate ECHO Challenge -- taking both first and second place overall.

Teams "The Joneses" and "Green Giraffe" won gold and silver respectively. Another AdPR team, "RPM" won Honorable Mention for best use of PR/Social Media. Team "BLaCKsheep Studios" made it to the semi-finals. In total, four of five teams under the direction of Dr. Griffith earned recognition in the Collegiate ECHO Challenge. Dr. Griffith is Senior Lecturer in the AdPR Department, and faculty adviser of "Talking Dog," AdPR's student-run advertising agency.

Last year, UGA's AdPR students earned all three top spots in the national competition.

The Collegiate ECHO Challenge is promoted by Marketing EDGE, a nonprofit organization headquartered in New York City, whose mission is to educate, develop, grow, and employ college students in the field of marketing.

According to Jeff Nesler, Senior Program and Web Manager of Marketing EDGE, there were approximately 150 entries in this year’s competition.
“Among this year’s judges were experienced marketing professionals, and dELiA*s executives made the final rankings from among approximately 25 semifinalists” said Mr. Nesler.
The annual challenge has been offered since 1986, when it was originally established in the name of a marketing leader who created the basic rules of direct mail marketing, Leonard J. Raymond. He is the founder of Dickie-Raymond, the agency that is now known as RAPP COLLINS WORLDWIDE.
