Announcing a new AdPR 4+1 Integrated MA Program at UGA

The Advertising and Public Relations Department is pleased to announce a new AdPR 4+1 Masters Program. The program will be a year long, and give graduating seniors a integrated professional MA degree.
" In a world where paid, earned and unsolicited communications are increasingly blurred, today's communications professionals need to be well versed and skilled in both advertising and public relations." Chris Hall, former CEO, BBDO-ATL
This new program will expose Advertising students to Public Relations and Public Relations students to Advertising, giving them an integrated view of the field. Students will take classes such as Ad/PR Foundations, AdPR Applied Theory, Advertising & PR Management, Public Opinion, Advanced Media Planning, and Social and Digital Media. A study abroad element will be built into the program allowing students to receive first-hand international experience in their prospective fields.
"A good professional is able to look outside their immediate discipline and build a campaign that crosses both paid and earned channels to achieve results. This is how we achieve success for our clients and the way of thinking we look for when speaking with potential job candidates." Valerie Elston, VP, Digital Strategy, Porter Novelli Public Services
From 20 to 25 undergraduate senior AdPR students will be admitted to the program beginning Fall of 2012. Interested seniors will need to submit a GRE score and should be on the lookout for the application to be released in the next few weeks.
