Rebeka Geer |
Rebeka Geer, a senior public relations major and speech communication minor, was recently chosen as a Pandora Outstanding Senior Leader. The award, from UGA's yearbook, "honors senior students who have gone above and beyond throughout their college career in their commitment to leadership, academics, campus involvement and community service." Students were chosen by a panel of judges from UGA faculty and staff, and were honored in a reception earlier this month.
Geer has worked as a Coca-Cola intern, and was an AdPR Connection 2012 co-chair. In addition, she recently completed a personal goal of climbing in Nepal to Mt. Everest.
"Rebeka Geer is a natural-born leader," said Betty Jones, a senior lecturer in the Department of Advertising and Public Relations. "She is a bright, articulate, impressive young woman. As co-director of the 2012 ADPR Connection, she helped put together an outstanding networking opportunity for all our majors. I'm pleased to see that she is being recognized as an outstanding senior by Pandora."
"I'm honored to be recognized as an outstanding senior leader," Geer said. "It's important to me that I always give back to the community and people who have played such a crucial role in my development."
