The Advertising and Public Relations Department is please to welcome our newest faculty member, Kristen Smith. You may have seen her in the hall or camped out in the Graphics Lab.
"Kristen Smith joined the Department of Advertising and Public Relations as a lecturer. Smith, who most recently worked as director of public relations at the University of Georgia's College of Social Work, will teach classes in graphic communication. She has a bachelor's and master's degree from UGA. The Savannah native also has experience as a graphic designer, writer and freelance cartoonist. She researched and edited a History Book-of-the-Month Club selection titled "The Lines Are Drawn: Political Cartoons of the Civil War." An Athens resident for 23 years, Smith is a founder of Clean Air Athens and a founding board member of the Nancy Travis House, a childcare center for homeless children and their families."
