Congratulations to advertising major Rance Nix and Mass Media Arts major Evan Simmons who teamed up to create a winning video for the Campus Chronicles competition hosted by Narratively.
The competition aimed to showcase untold stories from college campuses across the nation and reveal what the university experience is like.
The pair first saw the competition when it was posted over the Grady listserv. The process took place over a couple of days, with Simmons following Nix around, interviewing him and using footage from previous events.
In January, the two were notified that their entry was one of many winning submissions. Of the submissions, the “Big Man on Campus” video has been viewed the most. View their submission here.
Nix has appreciated the experience.
“It’s been a great opportunity to articulate my life purpose and story,” he says. “Moreover the feedback has been great and my family, friends, students, faculty at UGA, and others have all enjoyed the video. This has been one of the biggest personal projects I’ve done. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity! I’m excited to find out what else is in store between now and graduation.”
