Tom and Susan Landrum create endowed academic fund for AdPR Department

Tom and Susan Landrum
Students and faculty thank Tom and Susan Landrum, who recently created an endowed academic support fund for the AdPR department.

Tom Landrum, who retires from the University of Georgia this June, has over 40 years of work experience in communications, alumni relations and fundraising--most of that with UGA. He graduated from UGA in 1972 with a degree in history.

Eventually, he joined the UGA public relations office and continued to work there until 1987, when he began working for the Vice President for Development and University Relations.

Landrum also earned his master’s degree from Grady in the public relations field. Later in his career, he worked as the Executive Assistant for two UGA presidents and has served as UGA’s Chief Development Officer.

“The decision to create an academic support fund for the benefit of the Advertising/PR Department in Grady College resulted from my long-time association with UGA, both as a student and a staff member, and my special relationship with the Advertising/PR Department,” said Landrum.

He hopes to secure additional gifts to augment this endowed fund, which is meant to provide support in any way possible for students and faculty in the department, as determined by the Dean and the Department Head.
The Landrums’ intention is to personally support the university:

“After all these years of encouraging support for the University of Georgia in my work capacity, Susan and I wanted to demonstrate in a personal way our own support by making our personal gift to UGA.”
